Hello,

In Photomod system requirements is mentioned only P4 CPU. Is Photomod heavily optimized for Intel, or AMD Athlon 64 is also good choice (with 32-bit OS)?

Now planned configuration is:
    AMD Athlon 64 S939 3500+ CPU
    Gigabyte K8N-SLI motherboard
    4x 1GB DDR400 RAM
    80GB Seagate SATAII (for system)
    2x 300GB Maxtor SATAII Maxline+ 3 (for data)
    PNY Quadro FX 1300 video

Any suggestions/recommendations?

No, it is not optimized for sure. Also PHOTOMOD has not been tested for 64-bit CPU

Any benefits from Intel DualCore CPU? Prices are about the same for:

    INTEL Pentium LGA775 640 3.2GHz (800MHz, 2MB) EM64T BOX
    INTEL Pentium LGA775 820 2.8GHz (800MHz, 2x1MB) DualCore BOX
    INTEL Pentium LGA775 920 2.8GHz (800MHz,2x2MB) Dual Core box

There may be a slight difference with DualCore in some operations, but you will hardly notice it without special benchmarking, as there's no special optimization in PHOTOMOD for multi-CPU systems. While here in Moscow the street price for 640 is about $40 lower than for 920, we would generally recommend to take 640 and pay this $40 for bigger RAM or HDD size, of course if you don't plan to use some other software specially optimized for multiprocessing.

Will Photomod work with 4GB memory (and /3GB switch boot.ini)? Maybe there is no difference between 2 GB and 4GB?

As our experience shows, using /3GB switch may, at least on some computers, lead to generally unstable functioning of the OS and even BSOD, so we don't recommend using it. PHOTOMOD is designed to operate with standard amount of 2GB address space available to any standard Windows program regardless of physically available RAM size, but whenever it employs all of these 2GB (e.g. when you try to run bundle adjustment for extremely large project or create an extremely large TIN), some extra RAM will be needed for the Windows itself and other programs to run without swapping endlessly to HDD, so 4GB of physically available RAM is definitely better than 2GB. Though, once again, we don't recomment using /3GB boot.ini switch.
